Why We Love Bitchin' Sauce Heat Flavored Almond Dip

This sauce packs more spice into an 8 oz tub than the latest episode of RHONJ can pack into 43 minutes.

Capitalizing on the explosion of almond-based products that are blowing up on grocery store shelves, this dip packs quite a punch of heat and flavor. It has quickly amassed a cult-like following, and it appears to have hit it now hit it big, as we’re now seeing it in almost every grocery store we visit. Which is, ahem, quite a few.

Here’s what makes this spicy dip so en fuego right now.

The peeps at Bitchin’ decided (rightfully so!) to use habanero and ghost peppers to make this particular variety so hotsy-totsy. Those ghost peppers in particular keep the heat lingering on the tongue long after you eat it.

So if you like your dips hot and spicy, but have gone vegan (or a just experimenting somewhere on the ‘Vegan spectrum’), this is a fantastic choice. It has a nice depth to its taste, using bold spices and seasonings that give it a commanding power when It hits your tongue.

For those that are still feeling a little skeptical about almond-based dips like this: don’t be! Because here’s the thing about almonds: they’re flavor isn’t that specific, so they’re a great base for lots of different flavor combos.

And of course almonds are soooooo good for you, serving nutrients and antioxidants for days.

You will want to drown your chip, cracker, or veggie in these dips.

This is a really versatile dip that can be used on your favorite chip, cracker or veggie. Think about it as a great alternative to a ranch dip or a way to mix things up a bit with another option besides the ubiquitous salsa or guacamole that’s become your go-to dip.

If you’re gonna choose a cracker, we strongly suggest keeping things simple with a lightly seasoned cracker so that the dip isn’t competing for taste bud attention. We personally like the basic-but-still oh-so-delicious wheat thin. It’s a classic, and you can pretty much easily find it anywhere.

If you want to be a bit more bougie, try these out.

And finally, if you’re sticking to a gluten-free diet, keep it in the almond family with these.

In summary, here’s why we think Bitchin’ Sauce is a winner, baby.

The taste profile is on-point! In addition to being Vegan, it’s also gluten-free, non-GMO, and Kosher. And, as we mentioned before, they’ve got a ton of different varieties, including some Organic options.

The cost (at least what we saw at our local stores here in LA) feels reasonable for what it is, and how much dip you get.

How Bitchin’ Sauce could be even more bitchin’ in the future?

Our biggest bugaboo is that tends to separate over time and can get very watery…almost like almond butter when all the oil sits at the top of the jar. Not a cute look, because it then doesn’t stick to whatever’s being dipped into it.

One of our taste-testers wondered if adding a teeny bit of xanthan gum or some other natural thickener would solve this issue without compromising its taste of it.

And then one last request for those fine Bitchin’ Sauce folks: please figure out how to make a ranch dip out of almonds.

Because, ranch.
